Wedding Guest Book Ideas
74Wedding Guest Books
This page has some suggestions for wedding guest book ideas. You can use the traditional pretty wedding guest book with a matching pen like I did for my wedding.
1. Some wedding stores sell platters that guests can sign with a special pen and then they can display the platter in their kitchen or den.
2. Cut small squares of card stock and place them on a table in front of a prettily decorated basket, along with a bunch of cheap pens. Cheap because some will walk off and never return. Anyway, display a small sign that tells the guests to write special messages of love or advice to the bride and groom. It is a good idea to put someone in charge of this so that all of the guests actually do it. When the message is complete, it should be dropped into the basket.
3. Have a wedding message tree. Put an artificial plant with branches in a pretty pot. Put a stack of square of round card stock ornaments, about three inches across, with a bunch of pens. The ornaments should have a small hole at the top with some thin gold or silver cord tied in a knot. Guests can write a short message and sign a card stock ornament and hang it on the message tree.
4. Decorate a large shoe box or other box with wrapping paper. Cut a hole in the top. Let guests write messages of love and advice to the bride and groom on card stock and then drop them in the hole. The bride and groom can read these, a few at a time after they get back from their honeymoon and after the thank you cards have been written and mailed out.
5. Another wedding guest book idea is to buy a plain rectangular canvas from an art store along with some fabric markers in a variety of colors. Have all of the guests sign the canvas before the wedding ceremony or during the reception. After the wedding, the bride and groom can have the canvas framed and it can be proudly displayed in their home.
6. Put one person in charge of a small camcorder. Allow each guest 30-60 seconds to wish the bride and groom all the happiness in the world or to share a special memory or a funny happening from the past. Make it into a DVD and the bride and groom will treasure it. You could also make one for every guest and mail it out to them as a belated wedding favor or as an extra special thank you when the bride and groom mail out their thank you notes.

Tropical Theme Rocks Guest Book Alternative
We are using extra large river stones in a large low glass container with an inexpensive waterfall machine behind it. Tropical tiger lillies around the table with white linen, hot pink and orange tulle. Permanent sharpies in a glass. Guests will pick up a stone and write a message on it. Then they will place it back in glass jar with their wish after signing the back. My daughter wants to use these in her potted plants at home for a memory.

I think this is a wonderful guest book alternative for your daughter to use! I have not seen it done and would love to see photos after the wedding. Best wishes on your daughter's wedding and thank you for sharing the idea!

Wedding Photo Guest Book
by Judith
(Georgia)
We photographed our friends during their engagement and enlarged the photo to 8'x10" size and inserted it in a LARGE white archival mat and frame, leaving the glass off of the picture. With several archival pens, guests signed the mat with their best wishes. The couple now has the picture prominently displayed over their fireplace mantle.

Wedding Guest Book Basket
by Karen
(Cincinnati)
I am using a large rectangular basket with a light blue bow tied on the handle for a wedding guest book basket. I will have loose papers and some pens on a table in front of the basket for my guests to sign and write something happy. They can say what they liked about the wedding or give us some advice about being married.
Later on, I will compile the papers and put them in our wedding scrapbook along with candid shots of the wedding and reception so we can enjoy them for years to come.
I may decorate the rim of the basket with glued on lace or glued on silk flowers or maybe both. I am also thinking about putting a small sign on the table to let guests know that this is our guest book table so everyone is sure to sign in.
I will have one or two of my bridesmaids monitor the table throughout the evening.
