Twilight

Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer, is the first book of a romance series between a teenage girl and a vampire. As you know, it is now also an incredible movie. I love the scenery and the way the look of the vampires.  In November of 2009, the second one comes out and my daughter is so excited about it.

Bella is a pretty 17 year-old girl who lives with her mom in Arizona. She remarries and goes to Florida with her baseball-playing husband, so Bella moves to a small town in Washington state called Forks to stay with her Dad, Charlie. She has not been there to visit since she was four years old.  On the first day of school during lunch, Bella notices Edward staring at her coldly. He goes into the office and demands to change classes so he does not have to endure Bella. His request is refused so he is stuck sitting with her. The next few days of school, Bella doesn't have to worry because Edward is absent on a "camping trip."

When Edward first comes back to school, he is in a much better state, and saves Bella from getting hit by a car by stopping a moving van without getting hurt. She is taken to the hospital and meets Edward's foster father, a hospital doctor and also a vampire. After the accident, Bella becomes suspicious about what he is and goes to a bookstore to do research. All of a sudden, she is being chased down the street in the dark outside the bookstore and Edward magically appears after hearing her thoughts. He saves her and terrifies the guys who were about to rape her. She finally asks him if he's a vampire. Edward admits everything to Bella. Love sparks in their relationship as Bella finds out the real dangers of loving a vampire.

This is one of the greatest romances of all time, according to my teenage daughter. Plus it's a great start to a great series. Not only do you receive romance in this book, but you'll get action as well. Trust me when I say this, you really won't want to put the book down. My friends and I read this book in one to two days.

Another great thing about this book is the fact that right now in this point of time, the book, as well as the series, is extremely popular, so it can be used as a conversation starter.

Read this book and then rent the movie.

New Moon

In New Moon, the second book in the Twilight series, Bella is missing someone after her tragic 18th birthday party.

What is she missing? The love of her life, Edward Cullen. Not only is Edward Cullen gone from her life, he's taken everything with him that will remind Bella of him. Everything except the memories of their romance.

Edward's leaving causes Bella great pain, a pain she cannot go through alone. She needs a friend, and that is when she meets Jacob Black. Together, they ride motorcycles and they become best friends.

However, there is something about Jacob that Bella does not find out until Bella demands to know from Jacob why he isn't talking or seeing her anymore.

That is when Jacob finally tells her he is a werewolf. Of course, if Bella is in love with a vampire, then why would she be afraid of a werewolf?

Since Jacob is a werewolf, he has a responsibility to help take care of the pack so he doesn't have a lot of time to spend with Bella anymore. Bella decides to jump off of a cliff to try a new thing called "cliff diving".

Clumsy as Bella is, she jumps and starts drowning. She is saved by Jacob.

Alice, Edward's sister, sees in her mind that Bella jumps off of a cliff. Edward finds out and thinks Bella is committing suicide instead of trying to have some innocent fun.

Edward now thinks that Bella is dead so he goes to Italy to see the Volturi to be killed. Alice tells Bella and the two rush to Italy. Will they reach Edward in time to save him? Find out by reading New Moon now!

This book by Stephenie Meyer is a great action/romance novel that adds greatly to the first book in the series, Twilight. If you loved the first book, Twilight, then trust me, you will love the second book in the series. I know I did. I loved the way this book took me through so many different emotions for every action and romance scene. I know you will too. Read New Moon now! I cannot wait for the movie in November.

Eclipse

Eclipse is the third book in the series by Stephenie Meyer, Bella and Jacob are no longer on friendly terms. Why not? Because Bella is totally in love with a vampire, and werewolves and vampires don't like each other at all. They are natural enemies.

Another problem is that Jacob is also in love with Bella.

In this novel, another vampire, Victoria, is ready to take revenge on Bella because the Cullens killed her lover. Knowing that Bella is mortal and that it would hurt Edward deeply if he saw the girl he loved get killed, Victoria decides to go after Bella first, and then the Cullens. Victoria doesn't decide to do this on her own, but she brings with her more vampires.

The pack of werewolves decide to help the Cullens since they are outnumbered. This brings Jacob closer to Bella. Bella realizes that Jacob loves her and she loves Jacob. But she loves Edward, the hot vampire, as well.

As the battle against Victoria and her vampires is won by the Cullens and the werewolves, Bella now has to choose who she wants to be with forever, Edward or Jacob? Find out who she chooses by reading the third book in the series by Stephenie Meyer.

Don't miss out on the third book of the Twilight saga. This novel has the most action of all the Twilight novels yet. I guarantee you, based on my experience, you really won't want to put this book down. I even read it during a movie in a theater.

And speaking of movies, the movie for this book is due out in theaters in June of 2010 because the first, Twilight was such an incredible hit movie! So hurry and read this book. Because the book is always better than the movie!

Breaking Dawn

Breaking Dawn is the fourth and final installment in the Twilight series. This book brings the romance and action of the series to an end.

I have to say this book has a great ending. I was not disappointed with the book because everything I wanted to happen in the series happened! However, it is filled with some shockers, including the character, Jacob, taking over the narration for a while.

The last novel of the Twilight saga starts off with Bella finally marrying Edward at last. Aaaahhh! However, during their honeymoon, something unexpectedly and seemingly impossible happens to Bella. You will have to read it to find out why. Make sure you do before the movie comes out.

I want so much to tell you what it is, but if I do, I will spoil the surprise of it all. Stephenie Meyer really knows how to thrill her readers. Her writing is just incredible.

Bella refuses to cooperate with Edward on this matter, so this fuels tension between the newlyweds. Bella's werewolf friend pleads Edward's case with her. Does she listen to Jacob?

Shortly thereafter, all seems well again and then more trouble. This trouble causes the Cullen family to have to face the Volturi. Will the Cullens have to die fighting the Volturi, or will the Cullens be able to save themselves? Find out by getting a copy of this fabulous book now.

You will never think of vampires in the same scary way that you did before Stephenie Meyer wrote the Twilight series!

Other Vampire Stories

Ever since the "Twilight Saga" was created, vampire books and books with werewolves have piqued an interest in teenage readers.

Don't get me wrong. I love Twilight, not to mention book number two, New Moon, book number three, Eclipse, and book number four, Breaking Dawn. I am a huge fan of the series. However, to me, vampire books or series fail to measure up to the high standards of Twilight. Then again, some do, and that's why I'm writing this page for all the vampire and werewolf lovers out there.

Below I am going to list vampire and werewolf books (other than the Twilight Series which is listed above. I will tell you whether or not they are part of a series. As you read each review, I will let you know whether or not the books are cheesy or if you might love them. So yeah, I hope you enjoy!
